Consciousness & Mass Marketing of Pharmaceuticals

It is not too often that I sit on the couch and watch a national television show, however, I was watching on Sunday. I was vexed by a scene that I watched and the thoughts that came into play after watching this commercial. The thought was, it has become normal for people to watch the pharmaceutical companies market their drugs, on national television. It has become normal for people to allow these ads to glisten hope and desire for something good that may come from taking such drugs. I do realize there are certainly drugs that are life altering and absolutely life enhancing, but not ones that offer you hope of having less intestinal gas, or an erection that lasts but shouldn’t last more than 4 hours, or will let you eat all the horrible food you want and keep your perfect body mechanisms from registering the heartburn and gastrointestinal issues that warn you there is a problem, a drug that promises to make life feel better, while you continue to have rage and anger build up inside. As if that is not alarming enough, as I sat and watched 3, in a half an hour period, I was literally laughing at the side effects that these drugs cause and the fact that they actually tell you.  The upsell at the beginning of the commercial was so masterfully played, that these horrible side effects didn’t seem so bad. At least I am left to assume that, since the pharmaceutical companies pay millions of dollars for each advertisement. Most of the drugs that I am speaking of, that are advertised on tv are ridiculously cunning and absolutely undertaking of the perfection of the human body and the natural healing process. Why as a culture, as humans, do we allow for such thinking and such scrupulous undermining of our intelligence and innate healing process?  We have lost touch with nature, with evolution, and with the indwelling voice that I believe would tell you otherwise, if connected.

The population, presently, seems to be searching for the quick fix and if presented, it will be scooped up and gobbled, without a second thought.  We look to a pill to make us happy, to make us thin, to make us gain, to make us have better sex, to make us able to eat greasy fried food with out pain in organs that are screaming for you to stop, to sleep, to take that edge off, to help us off a drug of addiction and then list goes on and on.  I have personally observed people lose their minds from drug combinations, lose their lives from continuing to eat sugar and processed foods when they are on blood sugar meds to continue, lose their lives when they are searching for opiates on the street that their doctor gave them for years but now withholds, from drugs that gave them erections for hours, and they craved to experience more than their beloved wives, and so forth.  To me, I think this is a clear indication of the mass loss of conscious living that has seemed to wash over so many of our lovely people.  I want to stay on point here, but its a great time to bring up, quickly, the drugs that are in our foods, and the people that eat them are craving to eat it.  It is not nutrition, it is marketing for drugs that make people feel momentary satisfaction, only to be left wanting more. The drugs in conventional livestock farming. Drugs are everywhere, more so than ever in our world.  We look to find the quick fix.

The politics of this epidemic is all about money.  The money that comes from keeping people on the medications, from the sickness that continues to line the hospitals and then even more pharmaceuticals get handed out, treating the illness, and the wheelhouse of disease that is so accepted in our culture today.  They do not care about you when they are telling you that they can help you not feel gas, but you have intestinal bleeding, and may have liver failure. They do not care about you when they find that a chemical creates a sugar like substance, but trials and tests show cancer tumors and genetic distortions to babies from mothers injected with such chemicals.  They do not care about you when they tell you that you can not afford your meds anymore when insurance clams down on the prescription writing.  They do not care about you when you kidneys go into dialysis from a med that you used for 5 years to let you eat the foods that were killing your kidneys in the first place.  They care about how and why the next person will choose to take their products.  The pharmaceutical companies actually write and assist in medical school text books.  This is both alarming and unethical, yet it still happens.  The doctor is not always the bad guy.  They may believe they are doing the right thing, as they were taught and do not get me wrong here, as stated above, there are good things that drugs do.  I believe that, too.  But they are not meant to be the healing hub of our species.  It has become a big business and you’re the customer.  They do not care about you.  Im sorry if you think differently. They care about profit.  They are more invested in your sickness and dependency than your independence and wellness.

The consciousness of our culture is on the edge of complete hypnosis. The commercial only emphasized this awareness to me.  Being who I am, living the life I do, working with people I do, and discussing with peers in my field, has created more passion inside me to help shatter the illusion of the lies and the hypnosis happening.  It is my belief that we must get back to ourselves and learn to listen to our body and learn to eat and care for ourselves, intuitively.  Food is medicine.  Rest is medicine.  Nature is medicine. Water is medicine.  Love is medicine.  Meditation is medicine.  No one is talking about that on national TV.  I am 41 years old, I run every day, I meditate, I eat whole foods, I sleep well, I spend time outdoors, I drink water, and I feel so intuitively connected to my body, to my mind and to my being as a whole.  I do not worry when I feel a pain, I honor it and work to find out the source of what is happening.  I do not overdo life, I rest and make conscious choices about what and who I will invest my energy on.  I am compassionate and empathetic to those that are lost in the culture we live in, running so fast there may be no time to even think for a moment about how you actually feel.  You may be so sick that you have lost connection to the indwelling voice that screams to slow down and take care of yourself.  You may really believe that you are doing all you can do too, and that is where I say, the hypnosis is working.  I can not think of a time that I have been alive that it has been more clear that people no longer think for themselves, know how to help themselves organically, and often just look for someone to tell them what to do.  I could go on and on about the relevance of this and living an authentically happy and vital life, but I am really trying to stay focused on the drug industry and what they are doing to our culture.  We need to raise our awareness that we must fix ourselves from inside.  There is no other way!  The drugs are not the way!!! I can tell you that I can offer you advice on ways to heal your life, and that I will charge you X amount of dollars to teach about choices and lifestyle, and you will say “no, I am going to go to the doctor because my insurance will pay for it”.  This is precisely the point that I am making, that we must wake up and see that we are not being cared for by the medical profession the way we used to. Consciousness has to change.  We have to want more from our life than band aids and quick fixes.  We have to see the marketing that is constantly telling us we should be better, we should look better, we should feel better and if we do this or that, we will.  We will feel better when we learn to love ourselves and take care of ourselves, inside and out.  We must choose to invest in ourselves, our bodies, and our minds.  We must.  You buy the best vehicle because you want to be safe, but you don’t invest in premium quality foods and experiences to keep your body safe of disease and premature aging. You need sleep but you stay up watching tv.  You need hydration, but you won’t drink water because you don’t like the taste.   Our consciousness must be reawakened and is my sincere desire to help that happen.

Life is moving fast. Be good to you. Honor yourself and your body.  Know you deserve to feel good, body, mind and spirit. Know that prescriptions are not the answer, long term.  Know that you can change.  Know that you are in control of your life through every single choice, every single action and know that life can and should feel good! Love yourself. Love yourself enough to choose to see the reality of what is happening to our culture. We are being prescribed a truth that is sick, and the greater truth is you do not have to subscribe, or fill the prescription given.  You have control of your life, whether you recognize it or not!  Conscious and critical thinking is invaluable, please hold on to yours.  Dig your self out.  Love yourself and your people enough to show up, whole.

  1. Love the way you framed this message. Shockingly simple-I’ve never thought of “water is medicine” before, just more of its necessity for function. I love the perspective and how it brings all of our health to a whole.

    1. So grateful that it resonates. We have forgotten how perfect we are. Whole Wellness protocols have to look to the simple ways of loving and caring for ourselves, allowing for the healing to occur. We are over 70% water. It is so important to vital function!
