Nutrition is Number One

Choosing a Healthy Lifestyle does not have to feel extreme. You don’t have to drink green juice and give up tasty foods. You don’t have to move away to an island or run 5 miles a day. You don’t have to follow a full vegan diet or eat all meat to find a healthy life. As a wellness coach, I am often surprised at how many people desire a competitive edge on changing their health. I have seen often that this way of going about it may elicit change, right away, but it ends up in failure. You may lose weight, but the stress and tension of denying yourself indulgences creep in, creating a binge or full on rebuttal of the whole process. Why do we as humans feel the need to tackle things or be aggressive in lifestyle changes? Diets do not work. When I work with clients, I express intensely that we are working on lifestyle changes. I will discuss what I believe lead into a completely make over of body, mind and spirit health. This is the way to health. We must be balanced and aligned. If not, it wont work .

Nutrition will always be number one for me and the way that I guide clients into a lifestyle that is healthy and vibrant. We must return to nature. All chronic disease today is a symptom of the industrialized production of our food. We must return to whole foods, which are vital to a healthy functioning human body. Without going to in depth of the gut brain connection, the health community is becoming very aware of the connection between nutrition and brain functioning. HUGE!! The food we eat becomes the body we live in. If we need to heal, revive or just thrive, we must begin to let go of processed, highly refined and addictive substances placed in food to get you addicted to less that good food. Think of this; our body is an intricate being of cellular communication which literally recreates itself over time, so we can all change our health if we feed it the right foods. I believe this and have observed it change lives.

As we allow the body to let go of old habits and change the landscape of the microbiome (gut lining), I find that clients begin to have their own awareness of the change in energy levels, brain fog, cravings and bowel movements. Lets be frank, if we are not moving our food through our digestive system regularly, we are backed up, sick, and toxins are overloading the body. The changes that come from eating a whole food diet are too numerous to expand on in this short article. Here are a few:

  • Better Blood Sugar Levels
  • Less Pain And Inflammation
  • Better Digestion
  • Natural Weight Loss & Less Cravings

Whole food is the way to change your body, your mind, and your spirit. You are what you eat, and you are what you eat has been eating. Think about that for a moment.

5 Simple steps to shift from a processed food diet to a whole foods diet:

  • Eat Meals
  • Learn To Cook At Home
  • Do Not Eat Anything From A Convenience Store Or Gas Station
  • Eat Mindfully And Slow
  • No Excuses ( We are full of them)

Use these simple tips to check yourself when you find yourself reaching for the candy bar, or the protein bar, which can be just as sugar loaded and processed as the candy bar. Keep fruit, nuts or cut up veggies with you to curb the cravings that will come. Be patient and know that you can change your health, as you are your body’s and healthy life’s guide. You get to decide what you put in your mouth, the nutrition you will take in, and the affect that these choices will make on your overall well being. There is no other way.

The Power of Personal Intention

Intentions are the true power behind any great achievement.  It doesn’t matter if it’s personal, professional, spiritual, or psychological.  We really need to be looking at ways to be more intentional with our worlds.  If we wait for others, we fail.  If we procrastinate with intentions, we may lose drive. If we wait to find the motivation, we most likely won’t. To truly be the victor of the life that we want, it’s so important to create the intention of what that will look, feel and sound like in our reality. Don’t wait for it to come, don’t wait for the right time, don’t find one more excuse!  Take the initiative to get clear on what you do want and set intentions around that feeling and experience!  It’s the momentum of any worthy personal experience.

 

I like to think of myself as a manifesting master. I have learned over that past 20 years that we are more powerful and in control of the life that we are living than we have any awareness of.  What I have found is that we are all capable of creating through the power of deliberate intention, f

 

ocus and belief!  ALL OF US.  The biggest thing I observe is that people sabotage themselves with indwelling thoughts and beliefs that they do not actually deserve the life they desire, or somehow they don’t believe that they can actually do it.  I have created many amazing experiences and feelings in my world! I have also admittedly created some really hard experiences, as I was not aware of what I was intentionally creating. Lessons learned and movement forward was a great lesson in shifting my attention and intentions!  For me, It began with a book, a curiosity, an indwelling feeling and thought frame that I deserved to have the life that I wanted, not one that was being handed to me.  I wanted to create a life that felt good, and truly filled me with the feelings of a happy, vibrant and healthy experience. I knew I could, but I came from the background that you have to work hard and you have to settle for some things because that was just the way it was. That thought never set well with me. I was a very rebellious spirit as a youth and I recognize now that it was only because I was not willing to settle into a world view that felt foreign and small, to keep it simple. I am not a woman that could ever be kept in a box with a label. I now know that the way to create the relationship, the career, the body, the feelings, the vibe you desire is all about setting the intention. Of all the tools in the toolbox of manifesting, this is the golden rule. Without an intention, you have no vision, no enthusiasm, no belief, no desired feeling, and you won’t achieve the level of true satisfaction you truly want. If you feel less than happy with your world and feel like you’re stuck, I challenge you to set an intention and truly give 100% to it and see what happens.

Set the intention, first and foremost, for how you want to feel during your day.  This alone is life changing. I believe that we emit an energy to the world that sets our day in play. If you’re just waking up and going with the day, who knows how you will feel by noon! So many things can happen that set your tone if you have not decided, committed and are focused on the intention you have set for yourself. If you set the intention to feel happy, and you start the day with this vibration flowing through you, you will make coffee with vigor, you will see the birds and have a reason to smile, you will make breakfast with joy, feeling grateful for the opportunity to do so. You will begin to find that your brain begins to process the world differently and find that you are feeling more happy feelings during your day. Seriously, it’s this easy. On the other hand, if you do not commit to this intentional feeling, I can guarantee that you may find simple frustrations that can drive you to find the next one. Before you know it, you are certainly not in the happy space and your day just takes shape around the simple things that may have swayed your attention. Listen, life is not perfect, but you can set your intention to stay higher than the lower disturbances that come your way. We do not have to accept the invite to every negative feeling or experience that arrives. This is the truth!

When discussing any life goals or changes that are coming up in your world, set the intention for the highest and most aspiring experience that could take place within those intentions!  If you want a new job, and you just sit around frustrated with the job you are in and find yourself complaining about the job, thinking it will never change and feeling frustrated about it, chances are you will not find another job that matches the desired feelings you do want because you didn’t consider the fact that your unhappiness is keeping you from attracting the job that could truly be fulfilling and joyous. Why? Because you allowed yourself to become more intune with the frustration, rather than recognizing the frustration, and then intentionally setting the focus on what you do want! When you do this, you are making the commitment to finding the good about where you are, while intentionally aligning with what you do want, which activates the energy and actions to get what you do desire!  Remind yourself during your day of what you do want, where you are headed, and do not give up on that goal!

YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO.

You have to begin to focus more on your happiness than on your frustrations. You must intentionally get in the drivers seat of your life’s experiences. In a world of content that tells you that mediocracy is ok, find your way back to feeling good about life! It’s easy to settle for what comes. Find your way into intentional living!  Find the feelings of joy and enthusiasm and find your oomph again! Life is happening at an incredibly fast pace these days.  It is so important that we take the time to set an intention for the life that we want.  One of the most common things that I see with people who are struggling in any area of their life is that they don’t know how they got to the point of frustration. I think the reason “it just happens” is because the intention for your life and your desired level of happiness was not set, and this makes it easy to adapt to a version of life that just shows up. Stop that! The way to change this reality is to set powerful intentions!

I challenge you today to find one word that describes how you want to feel. Write it down, put it on your phones lock screen, paste on the bathroom mirror, put it at your desk, on your car dash, and use the word as your mantra.  Remind yourself constantly that you are choosing to feel this certain feeling and that you have the right to feel this way. Choose your experiences, your conversations, your food, your clothes, your music, and anything that comes up in life that you have a choice about and align with the vibration of the feeling that you desire to experience.  It’s so powerful and I promise it can be the one of the simplest and easiest things to do to begin to direct your life on the path of true happiness.

Be the victor in your life, let go of the victim role.  Believe in you, and know that you have unrealized potential that is waiting to be recognized and acknowledged. Tap into it by turning your personal power on! Setting intentions is truly the foundation of realizing, experiencing and fulfilling your potential! I believe in you! I hope you do, too.
